For onshore applicants, the focus is on employment situation (whether it's in the nominated occupation), salary level, years of experience, and partner points.

For offshore applicants, more attention is paid to years of skilled experience, partner circumstances, etc.

Important: Victoria uses an ROI (Registration of Interest) system. Applicants can only choose ONE option between 190 and 491.

What to Do After Receiving an Invitation?
If you have received an invitation, your next steps are:

Log in to the Live in Melbourne portal.

Click 'Apply' and select the visa stream you were invited for (190 or 491).

Do not select 'Registration of Interest (ROI)' again.

If you have a migration agent, they can submit the application on your behalf through their Portal.

Submission Deadline: Applications must be submitted by Wednesday, 22nd October 2025.

Passport bio-data page.

If you claimed income in your ROI, provide evidence of your employment in Victoria:

Current employment contract

Position description

Payslips for the last 4 weeks

Recent superannuation statement

Your SkillSelect EOI must include valid English test results and a skills assessment for your nominated occupation. This information must be consistent with your nomination application.

Ensure your English test results and skills assessment have at least 12 weeks validity remaining in your EOI. If they are nearing expiry or if your EOI details have changed, update them promptly via the Live in Melbourne website.

After submission, your application will enter the processing queue as soon as possible. You may receive a request for further information. You can check your application status at any time in the portal.

If you do not intend to apply, you can simply let the invitation expire; no further action is required.
