A well-known yogurt brand has been found to contain toxic chemicals,
with potential cancer risks!
Multiple people reported severe stomach pain and infertility…
And yes, it’s being sold in Australia!

#01: International Yogurt Brand Exposed – Carcinogens Detected, Class Action Filed

As health awareness rises, Australian consumers demand more transparency and safety in food labeling.

However, a class action lawsuit against global yogurt giant Chobani has uncovered shocking risks. Popular yogurt sold in supermarkets was found to contain toxic chemicals, contradicting its “only natural ingredients” claim. Multiple consumers reported severe stomach pain and fertility issues.

The products under scrutiny:

Chobani Nonfat Plain Greek Yogurt

Chobani Whole Milk Plain Greek Yogurt
(both still available in Australia).

Independent testing by PlasticList revealed traces of phthalates—industrial chemicals commonly used in plastics to increase flexibility.

Detected substances included: DEHP, DEP, DBP, and DEHT.

These are endocrine disruptors, known to interfere with the human hormonal system, and have been linked to hormone imbalance, certain cancers, developmental issues in children, and respiratory problems. They can also contaminate soil, water, and air.

Chobani denied deliberately adding the chemicals, suggesting they may have leached from plastic packaging.

On April 16, 2024, California resident Amy Wysocki filed a class action in federal court, alleging violations of consumer protection laws. She claimed she purchased Chobani yogurt in 2023, believing the “natural ingredients” label, and would not have done so had she known about the synthetic chemicals.

The lawsuit seeks:

Monetary damages

Legal fees

Mandatory changes to labeling and packaging

It represents all U.S. residents who purchased Chobani’s plain yogurts or substantially similar products during the statute of limitations period.

#02: Loyal Consumers Affected – Reports of Severe Stomach Pain, Infertility

This is not Chobani’s first controversy.

In 2023, the brand faced lawsuits over its “Zero Sugar” yogurt label, which contained allulose (a sugar substitute not listed on standard nutrition labels). While technically compliant, consumers found it misleading.

Chobani has long marketed itself as eco-friendly and socially responsible, boasting reduced water usage and sustainability efforts. Yet, with toxic chemicals potentially leaching from its packaging, critics accuse the brand of greenwashing—projecting an eco-image while hiding harmful practices.

Shaken customers shared alarming experiences:

“I’ve been buying Chobani since launch! Lately I’ve had unexplained health issues—I hope it’s not linked to Chobani.”

“I ate this daily and developed infertility and neurological problems doctors can’t explain.”

“Every morning I had this yogurt, then began experiencing irregular periods, hormonal changes, and infertility.”

Meanwhile, competitors like Fage and Stonyfield Organic quickly issued statements assuring their products are phthalate-free and safe, even updating labels to avoid lawsuits, reputational damage, and financial loss.

Final Note

Food safety is no small matter. Transparency in labeling and ingredient safety must be monitored by the entire community.

Let’s keep a close eye on further developments in this case.
