Introduction ···
Today, let’s talk about one of the most popular health-related degrees in recent years — the Master of Physiotherapy.
Compared to better-known programs like Speech Pathology or Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy (PT) has relatively higher entry requirements. But here’s a hidden gem: this PT course also offers a bridging program for students without a relevant academic background.
Master of Physiotherapy
Campus: Bruce (Canberra, designated regional area)
Duration: 2 years
Tuition Fee: AUD $52,200/year (2025)
English Requirement: IELTS 7.0 in all bands / PTE 65 in all sections
Entry Requirement: A relevant undergraduate degree in areas such as Exercise Science, Rehabilitation Science, Biomedical Science, Medicine, Physiotherapy, etc.(Course syllabi must be provided during application.)
If your undergraduate background is not in one of these areas or you haven’t studied the required subjects, you can apply for a bridging program:
Graduate Certificate in Human Movement Science
Duration: 0.5 year
Tuition Fee: AUD $20,700
English Requirement: IELTS 6.5 (all bands 6.5)
If you are applying as a package with the Master’s degree, you’ll still need to meet the higher English requirement (IELTS 7.0 in all bands) before starting the main course.
Also, packaged offers count toward the Master's quota — so spots are limited and go fast!
Applicants with a background in general science (e.g., biology, chemistry, medicine, biomedical science) are eligible. Early planning is highly recommended as this course is in high demand.
Important Notes:
This is a competitive and high-demand program with rolling admissions and merit-based selection. Offers are issued monthly, and once offered, must be accepted on time — deferrals are not allowed.
For students considering the packaged bridging + master’s pathway, it's best to prepare as early as possible!
